Google Maps (My Maps) on ipod Touch

If you're accessing it through safari, im pretty sure the website is made in flash, which means unfortunately you can't use it. I might be wrong but im sure you cannot look at google maps on the touch.

just tried on my ipod touch and can confirm that google maps works, went on to google, then google maps and everything is working like on a pc

Does anyone know of a way to download maps of certain cities to your ipod touch, then having them available while your offline and not connected to wi-fi? I know google maps is all web based but it would make much more sense to have the ability, especially for the iPod touch, to be able to access downloaded maps when you're not connected to the internet, for example when you're driving around town.

I sent in a feature request for that. It would be very useful...
