Motorola V8

Hello,

Does anyone know if and when the Motorola V8 will be compatible with iSync. I was gutted to find that having upgraded my phone, my computer wouln't even find it. Failing an official compatibility update, is there any 3rd party options that will allow me to sync address book and calender info with my V8?

Many thanks for your help.

just adding another bump to get Apple to create an iSync plug-in for the RAZR V8.

Just want contacts sync'd to save vCard exporting/importing. Btw for anyone reading this and who hasn't come across the info about the vCard method then just export all the contacts you want on your V8 as vCards. Bluetooth them over to a directory on your V8 and import them (you can select them all in one go so it's pretty quick).

I've looked at the plist properties for iSync phones and would create this myself if anyone would help with the specific identification strings to make a V8 profile. Not sure it's quite that simple but seems logical enough.

Hello! Hello Apple Support!?

I'm waiting now over 5 month for a Moto V8 isync plugin. The phone has a good addressbook&calendar and I like to sync it with my Mac now!

I have tried to adapt the ident strings (and more) of different Moto plugins by myself without success. I think there is something different with the syncML interface. But actually I haven‘t the time to explore this. Maybe APPLE will do this!? (Many big thanks in advance!)

I wouldn't hold your breath.

It took Apple over 2 years to include support for the Motorola RAZR MAXX V6 and all it does it sync the telephone numbers and email addresses of your contacts. No postal addresses, no addressbook pictures, no birthdays, no calendar, no todo items, despite the V6 having its own very similar equivalents to all of them.

meanwhile heres how to copy address book files to the MOTORAZR v8

pair the devices
open address book and select all the files you want.
drag them to a location in the finder (i created a new folder on the desktop)
from the bluetooth icon in the tool bar (bluetooth must be active) select Send File...
select the device
bingo... the motorola automatically adds them to contacts
