Importing mp4 files to audio tracks?

I've been attempting to import an mp4 file into an audio track. If I drag it from the browser, the arrow has the green plus sign and the cursor shows where it will be inserted. The edit file even gives me an opportunity to "undo". The problem is there is no file to play. It seems that I have done this before in order to play along with a recording. Thank you in advance for assistance with this.

I believe mp4 would only be compatible with an audio track in Logic if it's an AAC format. If that's what you've got, I'm not much help. If it's an mp4 in the more typical video format, you could bring it into Logic under options - movie - open movie. At that point you can import it's audio onto an audio track, then you can listen, slice, dice, whether or not the movie is playing, or even still in the project.
