Free Windows emulator

Free Windows emulator

Hi, I need to run one Windows application on my MacBook Pro (Tiger). My PC-network-company won't pay to support me on this and I don't want to install Windows just to run one application!

I know all about Bootcamp, paralels, iemulator, VMware Fusion, Crossover, etc., but these won't work for me (arguments previously stated).

So, in short, I don't want to install Windows on my Mac and I need a free solution. Does anyone know a good, free and trustworthy Windows emulator?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 2.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM

iFelix, I installed Darwine but encountered erros when trying to run a sample app (included with Darwine). The error states:

winecfg.exe has exited with an error, have a look at the Log window...

When I go to the Log window, I find this:

wine: wineprefixcreate failed while creating '/Users/rtorres/.wine'.
wineserver: could not save registry branch to /Users/rtorres/.wine-VXSXjo/system.reg : No such file or directory
wineserver: could not save registry branch to /Users/rtorres/.wine-VXSXjo/userdef.reg : No such file or directory
wineserver: could not save registry branch to /Users/rtorres/.wine-VXSXjo/user.reg : No such file or directory

Do you know what this registry is all about?
