Safari will not open logmein.com

For some reason which I cannot figure out, I am unable to enter the site - logmein.com. I have reset safari and rebooted, but nothing seems to help. I do not have this problem on any other site and i am able to access it with the Imac i have in my office. Both run leopard. Any suggestions. Thanks

Changing the MTU to 1472 worked for me
The problem is it is a temporary fix, it resets to 1500 after restarting my iMac
If anyone knows how to fix this permanently, instructions would be appreciated

Glad that's worked out for you!

Just to make sure I gave the right advice further up in this thread, isn't the MTU setting permanently saved when you do the change via System Preferences (apologies if the navigation isn't correct for Leopard). That is, open System Preferences, choose Network, then select the specific adaptor you are using and it is on the Ethernet tab when you choose Advanced and Manual configuration that you set the MTU (to 1472 if you are on DSL seems a good option). If that setting change doesn't "stick" then I don't know where else it should be done.

I am using airport to connect to my wireless router. The problem is there is no ethernet tab under the advanced airport settings in Leopard. I did find a Cocktail which is a third party system tweaker that seems have done the trick for me though.

Thanks for clarifying; mine is hardwired (as well as being Tiger).

So anyway it sounds like the good advice coming out of this - and maybe this relates to other various odd network non-correctivity things some people on Leopard are seeing too, as well as access to this specific website - is that people running Leopard and connected via DSL should at least try whacking their MTU down to 1472 (via System Preferences, or the terminal commands you posted earlier, or using the "Cocktail" tweaker application) and seeing if that lower setting - which should cause their maximum-size outgoing packets to not be fragmented - fixes those issues.

Thanks for posting back with the extra information; I hope it turns out to be useful for other people with the specific logmein.com issue as well as maybe other odd Leopard internet issues too perhaps. BTW if you or someone else are posting/monitoring the thread(s) in the Logmein forums that people have mentioned about this issue, can you please see that something about trying the lower MTU for DSL-connected Leopard users is posted in there too.

Totally Working out!!!

when i changed my MTU setting at my Airport settings using cocktail at 1454 logmein showed me the site without lagging or a long waiting time.

Im in mexico using ADSL Prodigy Infinitum service, i had no need to use the static address that Ted posted in the latter posts.

It looks that the really fix solution its the MTU, it would be good to tell to the LMI guys.

Thanks Everybody
