system log fillling with dns related messages

Hi,

My system.log is filling up with lots of this error message below. ("spenser" is hostname).

Anyone seen this before? Know how to stop it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rowan.

No. I'm not using Internet Sharing but thanks for responding.

My understanding to date is that this may be a Bonjour message.

I have a fairly simple wireless set-up. One wireless router with an HP Network Printer attached.

Two physical machines connect: iMac & iBook.

And one virtual - VMware Fusion Windows XP Home Edition.

Maybe it's the printer or VMWare causing the problem.

Do you have either of those components in your system?

Bonjour is itself a DNS (technically, a component of DNS Service Discovery that uses multicast DNS) though it is not user-configurable in the sense that, say, BIND is.

The error message Bonjour is receiving is "DNS message too short." While I understand this may have little to do with a queryable DNS like BIND (though Bonjour is in fact a queryable DNS in an entirely different sense), Bonjour has everything to do with DNS.

That said, I will be the first to admit that my ignorance on this topic is vast.
