What does an iPhoto Book Cost????

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why when I created a book last night it cost £44.00 (or thereabouts) and when I tried to buy it today it cost £68.00ish.

Have the prices gone up 50% over night or am I missing something really important and quite basic.

Any help appreciated

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. At what point and where did you get the first price?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. iPhoto doesn't not have to be closed to run it, just idle.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Hi Old Toad,

Essentially it was for the same book. On Sunday evening I selected my photographs and began creating the book, I used autoflow and to just to see how much it would cost i pressed 'Buy Book". It worked through the process and opened the order page and the cost was £44.00 ish.

Since I wanted to move a few photos and change this and that I decided to wait until the next day when I would have some more time. On Monday (the next day) I made my changes, I even took out quite a few photos. Once I was happy I pressed 'Buy Book" and to my surprise the cost has increased to £68.75.

At all times it was the same book. 100 pages, hard back, crayon theme, 8" * 10".

Why did the price change?
