How do you use 3 inch CDs in non-Tray-loading Macs?

One post indicated that is was very difficult to extract a 3 inch CD from a non-tray loading Mac, and I guess it didn't work anyway. Is there a 4 3/4 inch after-market CD ring that holds onto these little dudes, or do I need to find a friend with a tray-loader and somehow burn a regular CD or transfer the files onto a flash drive? (Which I did try unsuccessfully). Thanx!
