Font: Courier New

Has anyone else noticed that the font, Courier New, appears dim on your screen and even when printed? It has become a popular font and apparently does not have the same weakness on PC's. It has the same dimness and lack of contrast on all three of my computers.

PB G4 15", 2 G5 2.0Mhz, Mac OS X (10.4.10), Apple for 27 years and counting!

Yes, I've tried it with TextEdit and Word 2004. I believe that is the way the font is.

Hi GeneMike,

I looked at the four fonts that are in the Courier New suitcase with FontLab Studio and all are your typical font. And that is a vector outline with a solid fill. I'm not saying that you aren't having problems, but it's not from the way the font is made. Such fonts only support either solid or open fills, no shading. If I open the font with Suitcase Fusion, they display and print just as I would expect. Solid black.
