MacBook Pro can't Print to a Xerox Workcenter 7132

I am having a heck of a time getting my mac to print to a Xerox Workcenter 7132. The Postscript drivers are not installed on the Xerox machine. I was told by a rep from Xerox it would cost $500.00 to get my mac to print. I am confident their is something I can download or install to make this work. I am a new Mac user just trying to this thing fixed. I just need a little help to get this thing figured out.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

See if the drivers posted here won't do what you need. http://www.support.xerox.com/go/results.asp?Xtype=download&prodID=WC7132&Xlang=e n_US&Xcntry=USA

Just download the one you need, and double-click on it when it's done being downloaded.

It should install in the correct location on your Mac.

Then see if the printer works... Please post back with results.

You may need to activate EtherTalk on the printer. I don't know how to do it on Xerox but, on an HP8000n we had at work, we used the menu-driven control panel on the front of the printer.
