motion 2 is really screwed up

I meet all requirements for motion to run yet even if I attempt a simple ram preview or go to render something as simple as an unaltered template it has objects dissapearing. -vector based objects have missing pieces in them i.e. rectangles turn into triangles. Even rendering these templates carries the error into the quicktime file. I want this to work, it's so frustrating, Apple support and motion support were useless and pointed to each other to resolve the issue.
