Areca 1680X not compatible with OS 10.5.1?

Has anyone been able to get an Areca RAID card to work with Leopard? After reading the great reviews on AMUG of the 1680X I bought one and have spent the last day and a half trying to get it to work. I've had minor success in Parallels but I get errors trying to install the software on Leopard. After installing their latest .dmg file I get a "getFileAttributes requires native support" error. I've looked up this error on here but haven't gotten anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mac Pro 8 Core, Mac OS X (10.5.1), 8 Gb RAM
