Epson R220 & Leopard "Print CD Program"

I've got an R260 and just printed a CD today. I did an Archive and Install, so it kept all of my previous settings. No reinstall of the R260 was necessary. I can't imagine the print driver is much different for the 220 vs 260. I am also using it on PPC, so there may be an Intel issue.

Did you try to install a new (old) driver?

The software is all from the original install disks. It was kept when I did an Archive and Install.

I am having the same problem except with an R230.

Ditto for me too. I have an RX700.
I tried reinstalling all the epson drivers from my leopard disk, still same message.
The epson web site is of NO help - it just refers you to the leopard disk. Gee Thanks.

Same problem... R340.

All the other functions are fine but when I try to print on CD using PrintCD I get the driver not installed message.

Reinstalled driver from the original Epson disk, new drivers from the Epson website.... same problem.

I've found that if I use Parallels and the installed program for XP - it prints just fine to cd's. Its a long way around the problem, but at least it works! PS. the windows version of the Print CD program, looks like it was written for an 8 year old!

After a long conversation with Epson Support, They told me that their Print CD drivers are incompatible with Leopard. I use Discus, however, and am having no problems printing to an R220 and an R280. May I suggest that you download the trial version of Discus and see if that helps. I have been using it for quite a while and am very satisfied with the program and the tech support.

Yeah, very odd indeed. I am using an Epson PM-G730 (Japanese model) and it's printing CDs like a trooper, so for them to say they have no Leopard support is a straight up lie and they have no idea why it's not working. However, when I first installed Leopard I did get a message about 'easy print' (or something like that) was not installed. So, I reinstalled everything from my Epson CD and it works fine now. I just deleted all stuff I don't use after installation.

My advice would be to reinstall everything from your Epson CD 'not' just the CD print software. It worked for me.

I use a R220 and Print to CD with Discuss. No problem.

Found this thread and some people had success with restarting the printing system. I would have recommended that, also, but I can't find a way to do it in Leopard. One of the replies indicated ctrl-clicking in Print and Fax, but the reply is so cryptic, I can't tell where to ctrl-click.

I don't know about Leopard but there is a definite problem with Intel Macs. Download the latest driver(3.5, epson11770dmg) and EasyPrint module (epson12433) then before installing go to Printer Setup Utility and under the menu of that name do a Reset Printing System and restart. Install the driver and module, then use Printer Setup Utility to Add your printers back in. I got the same message until doing that last step, worked perfectly after that.

Look for " Epson Support for Intel-based Macintosh" on the Epson site and select your printer model.
