Do I Need Credit To Get an iPhone?

Simply, I'm a young 20 yr old which really wants an iPhone.

I wish to get it with ATT as soon as possible though am sure I'd need some sort of credit.

Anyway I can get signed up with ATT then?

I wish to avoid the route of having my parents assist me with their credit since they'd be up my butt all the time with this.

Any tips, words of advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
