Interview Audio sounds roomy

Hello.
I was on a shoot last week and my XLR cables went crazy and I had to use the camera mic to shoot a couple interviews. The audio isn't that bad (since I was able to get close enough) but I hear a lot of the room in the audio. How can I get a better sounding, voice isolated sound? I have Final Cut Studio.

This type of situation is simply very difficult to correct. You can try and isolate the voices by finding their EQ and boosting it . . . then bring down the master level bringing down the room noise. Since the noise is actually the voices you're hearing, this trial and error at best and likely won't sound very good.

Or, you can add music.

If you have a long-enough (3-4 seconds should do) passage of just room noise, you can try using noise reduction, but at best it will only partially-improve it. In addition to (or else), you can also perform spectral editing and/or EQ as Jimi suggested. Otherwise, make sure you always carry a spare cable (or two).
