Internet Explorer, even on OSX, but moreso on OS(, is old technology. There are many newer technologies that it cannot handle when loading webpages. Microsoft has stopped developing it for he mac. I would suggest going to macupdate.com and downloading a browser called icab.
Never heard of that one. Looks like the last OS9 version was 2003, for icab it is constantly being updated from what I can see. Based on that icab would be the best way to go for the newest technology.
Different browsers render the same web sites differently some better, some not so well, and it varies from one site to another. It doesn't hurt to have a choice of browsers on hand so you can use the one that does the best job on each of your favorite sites. You may find that one browser is best overall and decide to use just that one most of the time, but switch to another browser each time you visit one particular site. I've always liked iCab, except that all the versions of it I've tried (not all of them by a long shot) have had trouble rendering these Discussions pages properly. For that reason I generally used WAMCom Mozilla 1.3.1 under OS 9.x, except when I knew I wouldn't be visiting Apple Discussions during a session.
Some things that have worked for me in the past: empty the cache, reduce the cache size to 4 or less, dump preferences for ASLM and internet control. Make sure you have these minimum system requirements:
Virtual Memory ON
Programs: Apple QuickTime version 3.0 or later.
Open Transport 1.3 or later
