I've done that because that has always helped me in the past, but it doesn't respond to anything right now. I went through the entire procedure on "Typical ways to fix ipod" on the main support menu, which included restarting, checking if itunes was current version, etc. but I have had no response. The only thing I haven't done is restore the ipod and check the ipod for updates, because I can't do that because it isn't recognizing.
