Mouse pointer has black box around it

I was attempting to rebuild desktop on 9.2.2 command-option, and for some reason clicked my mouse and this black bounding box appeared can't get rid of it. Please help it's driving me nuts, and is jumpy.Box is 3" x 2-1/2 ".

Welcome to Apple's Discussions.

You may have accidentally turned on Close View, part of the optional suite of Universal Access software for OS 9.

The keyboard command to enable that function is Command-Option-K. I don't know if that is a toggle-type command - try pressing it again to see if it kills the box.

Otherwise, look for a control panle named Close View - you can turn that feature off within that control panel.
