"The iPod "iPod" could not be restored because it is busy"

Hi folks,

I'm having problems to restore my iPod Nano.
When I connect it to my iTunes it says that there is a iPod in Recovery Mode and I start the restore process.

BUT, after downloading the restore file and extracting it pop's up the message: "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored because it is busy".

Does any one knows how to solve this problem ?

Are you really running 10.4.8 as stated in your profile? If yes, you need to download and install the 10.4.11 combo updater.

If after you do that you continue to get that message then you have some software on your computer that is polling/accessing the iPod.

I had the same problem with my touch wheel 20 GB iPod. the funny thing is it only happenned when I temporarily switched it to PC mode (so I could use it with my work computer), then I tried to switch it back to sync with my Mac and I got this problem. Now I can only use it on my PC. Arggh!
