What does the orange light on the power cord mean?

What does the orange light on the power cord mean?

i have a brand new Macbook and am charging it for the second time but when I plug it in the power adaptor goes green then orange?

Anyone know what this is? i do not see anything about this online or in the manual.

When you first plug in the adapter, it's always green for a few seconds.(I think to let you know it's connected.) Then it has a chance to poll the battery, and determine if it needs to be charged, and it will turn orange to indicate it is charging. Once it is fully charged, it will go back to green again, and stay that way until you disconnect.

It means, of course, that your adapter is charging your battery. As long as you have a sufficient charge in your battery then it shouldn't matter if it is orange because that is a sign that it is charging the battery.

Are you just concerned that it is green when you plug it in and then it jumps to orange? That should not be a problem or serious concern. If it never went to green then that might be a concern.
