I was putting songs on my iPod, I ejected it, and the screen stayed as, "ipod ejected, you may no blah blah blah" and it stayed frozen like that! I tried the pressing menu and center button together, and now the iPod keeps turning on and off, and without getting to the menu or anything! What should I do.
i'm having the same exact problem. it just keeps turning itself on and off over and over until the battery dies. it won't show up in itunes (or as an external drive) because the ipod (in my case) gets right up to the main menu sometimes but then shuts off a second later, so the computer doesn't even have time to recognize it. any bright ideas?
First force the iPod into Disk Mode... Putting iPod into Disk Mode http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 Then connect it to the computer and you should be able to now perform a Restore on it. Good luck! Patrick
Ok, I had the same problem, the best thing to do when the iPod keeps doing that is go to this link:
https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do Either way, you need to find out if your warranty is still in effect (which you can find out when you follow the link). I did this and I have shipped my iPod and now I am waiting for it.=)
I put mine in disk mode. It would stay on when it was like that but as soon as I restored it my ipod started turning on & off again. I JUST bought this ipod classic & this happened right after I disconnected it from my computer for the first time. It really doesn't make sense. Anyway...is that really all I can do? I have to replace it? Also, I did wait for it to say it was safe to disconnect.
Awesome idea Patrick
Thanks...
I just put my ipod into Disk mode, then restored it. It worked, its alive now 😀
I could also get backup of my musics inside it.
This method is strongly recommended to the others having such problem.
