Apple monitors for viewing radiology images instead of grayscale

I am looking at switching from PC to Mac for my home computer but I also need to start viewing radiology images from home. I am wondering if anyone has used Cinema HD displays or other apple monitors for viewing radiology CR/DR, MR or CT images and how they compare to medical grade 3-5 MP grayscale monitors ($3K or more apiece) typically used for such viewing. I would like to have a single combined work/home computer for both overall cost savings and to keep my desk from looking like mission control. I would appreciate any feedback.

iMac or MacPro, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Some-one just attended me that your question was about medical imaging on Apple Displays. I misunderstood the question. Some background information on Apple displays used in radiology can be found here:

A software presentation on viewing and manipulating MRI, CT and PET images can be found here:

The new iMacs are not using a lot of desktop space, mine has only one cable, the power cable.
Possible set-ups for your needs can be found here:

I have a 23" Apple cinema display connected to the 24" iMac, the difference is the iMac has a glossy screen, with the computer inside.
