VPC & Windows version Internet Explorer

I use PC's in my business and connected via Internet explorer to my bus. application. I have Mac's at home & sometimes I work for home and Safari is unable to access the drop down menus,because Active X, so I am limited in what I can do. If I buy VPC will I be able to run windows Internet explorer and it work like normal on a PC. I don't want to buy a PC just to run I explorer. Also the Mac version of IE doesn't access them either.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the info, just one more question, my G4 is 500 Mhz, and VPC 7 says 700 Mhz required, will it still run, I don't care if it slow?

I use VPC 7 on a 1.25 Ghz Powerbook and it is dreadfully slow, especially with IE and a VPN connection I use for Outlook webmail. I cannot imagine it at 500 Mhz and if they say 700, they mean 700 will barely work if my experience with a G4 at nearly triple the speed is an example.

As already indicated it runs slowly on a fast Mac.

If the minimum specs say 700MHz it probably doesn't run very well on that and therefore anything slower is probably going to mean it won't run at all.

It is also likely not going to install either.

Older versions of VPC can run on older Macs.

Guest PC http://www.lismoresystems.com/systemreq.html will run on your hardware but I have not used it therefore can not comment on it's speed or usability.

Have you tried using Internet Explore (available by download from mactopia.com) on the Mac to access your site.

Yes, VPC is very slow. I have it on a Powerbook G4 867,and it is very slow. Not worth a lot if you ask me. I do need it to access an application from work that, so far, isn't accessible via the Mac.

If you read her post it does say

So the Mac version of IE is not an option.

IE for Mac besides being from about the 8th Century, does not handle ActiveX at all . I have to use VPC and IE6 for access to Outlook Webmail at work.
