CHANGE DEFAULT BOOKMARK LOCATION

Is there a way I can change the default storage location of my bookmarks? When I do a manually backup, I am always forgetting to grab my bookmark file, and pull it over. Thus losing many valuable bookmarks when I have a major crash.
I always get my Documents folder, and want to store my bookmarks there.
I am unsure of time machine yet. I edit video and audio, and it seems to bog me down a little, and I dont like staying tethered to external drives with my laptop.
Mobile for a reason baby 🙂

MacBook Pro 17", Mac OS X (10.5.1), Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz, 3 GB ram

Hi

Welcome to Apple Discussions

The Bookmark.plist file needs to remain in the Safari folder in your User Library. The "easiest" way to backup Safari bookmarks is to have a .Mac account, synching the bookmarks to your iDisk.

I dont like staying tethered to external drives with my laptop.

Neither do I, however, I find it essential to have a backup of my system "just in case". 3rd party backup programs, such as SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner exist, which create a bootable backup on the external drive. After an initial backup, subsequent backups only address changes since the last backup - makes for a pretty speedy backup. I have learned that having a bootable backup can be a huge timesaver when trouble strikes.
