New Keyspan USB 2.0 Server

Keyspan has just made available a USB 2.0 Server which is reported to allow the use of a variety of USB devices including HD's. The reviewer said that, with some glitches, the USB drives attached through it show up as locally attached drives. If this is so, it migh be possible to attach a USB drive to this server and, through that, to the LAN. While it is probably too early for anyone to have had experience with this, any knowledge or thoughts would be welcome.

It would be interesting to know. Currently I use a Mac Mini as a file server over the home network, and my other Macs can TM backup to it. Of course Apple says that for remote volumes, you need the backup disk attached to a Leopard machine (which my Mini is).

Thus using a non-Leopard machine (if this Keyspan is that) does not qualify. However, others have been able to use NAS drives using a little magic, but many users wonder how reliable this is over the long haul.
