Stuck on www.apple.com/support/ipod

Think I let my mini slip out of my hands, one too many times. After its latest fall, it is stuck on the screen which gives me the above apple support link. Holding Select/Menu for 5-10 secs shows the apple logo, but, then it goes back to the same screen.

I have recharged it completely. Connecting it to the computer, it doesn't even show up in iTunes.

Seems like the disk is badly damaged or corrupted. Can anything be done?

Well, like 3450bob said, the Microdrive is damaged. You are going to have to replace the drive. Microdrives on iFixit.com are about $60. Opening the iPod mini can be difficult if you don't have the right tools, and most likely, will deface the case and top plastics. There are some places that will repair your mini for you, or Apple will have the out of warranty service, but the totals can go into the $100 range.

If you don't want to replace the drive, or send it out for repair, there is nothing else you can do. If you need a new iPod, bring it to the Apple Store and have them recycle it. You'll get 10% off your new iPod.

I have the same situation, but with a twist. I get the same error and have tried everything on the support website but this is on a brand new ipod mini I received from Apple 3 weeks ago due to a dead battery on the old one. It's after the 14 days to return it, but I seem to recall seeing somewhere that it's covered for 90 days. I didn't drop it or anything, just stopped working after 2 weeks of use. Can I return it? This is bogus.

Yes you can fix it. My 4GB mini's micro drive crashed just a few weeks ago. I opened it up removed the micro drive and replaced with an 8GB CF card. No special tools needed! Now I have a solid state 8GB mini.

The 8GB CF card was $100 but you can find them cheaper, or you could go with a 4gb or even 2gb... or 16GB for that matter.

Give it a shot, its not that hard and what's the worst thing that could happen to your broken iPod mini... you break it?
