Optonline cust. can't send/receive email on iPhone

New iPhone-long time mac user. Having trouble with email. Use Optimumonline. went through the setup wizard listed on this site. settings are identical to what it says. no go. One thing I notice is that the outgoing/incoming servers are different than those on my mac (entourage). Is that how it's supposed to be?

17 iMac, 1Ghz RAM; iBook 700Mhz, Mac OS X (10.4.1)

No, I provided a solution that will work while connected to EDGE, and that is cwmx.com.

Whether or not optonline chooses to relay is their choice and business decision to make. Many ISPs don't relay because servers that relay can potentially be exploited by spammers. If you want to use Optonline's outgoing server on EDGE, that would be a change for Optonline to make.

While you are connected to EDGE you can use cwmx.com as your outgoing mail server and send any email address you like. However, it only works on EDGE.
