On what port do you plug your camcorder ? IS there any other device daisychained with it on firewire ?

Is you camcorder is set correctly to output via Firewire port?

Yes your firewire cable, or the camcorder Firewire Port or the port on your mac itself.

But pay attention to set your camcorder to output a signal from his firewire port before conclude.

Could you answer Michel's six questions as thoroughly as possible?

The error message means it doesn't see your camera.

If system profiler is not seeing the camera, then there is something wrong with the port on the computer, the FireWire bus, or the camera or its port.
