levels in logic

Can anybody tell me how they have their gain streuctures and levels set up in Logic?

I always strive to get everything coming out of logic at 0db. But recently did a project and decided to try something different: I made sure I had plenty of headroom on each logic track, the master and my MAudio audio interface software that feeds my speakers. The result was that I got a rally really loud sound ing track!

Can people explain how they moniter and record using Logic please. Doies everyone have everything set up so that its coming out the speakers at 0db or what?

Cheers

So me running it here in Logic must be my imagination then, eh..? 😉

Minimum system requirements:
Windows 98 or later
VST, DirectX or RTAS compatible host application
256 MB RAM
Pentium III 600 MHz
High Color S-VGA, 1024x768

MacOS X v 10.1 or later
AudioUnit, VST or RTAS compatible host application
MacOS 8.5
VST, MAS or RTAS compatible host application
256 MB RAM memory settings on MacOS
G3 300 Mhz
High Color S-VGA, 1024x768

It's a happy audiounit bunny, trust me.. do you really think I would have recommended it if it didn't work in Logic? Look where we are... 🙂

Not sure if it's a UB offhand though, but you're on a G5 anyway...

Me too, and it does have a digital PPM mode, but no reference or ballistics adjustments on it.

Really? It has a ton of reference modes - I mostly use K14, but it has a whole bunch of options. Or do you mean something else?

Oh I see what you mean, the download page doesn't seem to have the AU version. Hmm...

Did you try seeing whether it's in the other downloads..?

Edit: Hmm... I've got a feeling the AU version might have been bundled with the AU version of VintageWarmer - it took them a long time to get an AU version of VintageWarmer done as I recall, but I can't remember the detaisl any more...

Hi Randall,

PPMulatorPlus AU plug works for me just fine. I'm running the latest logic with 10.4.11, on an Intel Mac Pro.

I placed the AU component in my Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder rather than the home folder route if that matters.

Its nearly usable for free as it just needs to be removed and re-instantiated (if thats the word??) in a channel insert when it times out. Its ok if you just want a quick "PPM check" but no good if you need to keep a constant eye on things.

You are right about the price. I'm being far too tight! The more I play with it the more I like it. I shall buy the thing. Its nice to support the "little guys" too.
