mdnsresponder and configd

Everytime I boot up now I recieve these annoying messages that say
[QUOTE]Do you want the application "configd" to accept incoming network connections[/QUOTE]
and
[QUOTE]Do you want the application "mdnsresponder" to accept incoming network connections[/QUOTE]

If I click on deny on both I have no inernet connection. Also if I go to System Preferences and set my Firewall to "receive all incoming connections" essentually turning my firewall off these messages stop occuring on reboot.
I think this all happened after trying to recalibrate my MBP battery but I am not sure. When I installed Leopard over a month ago I did a fresh install and all was fine, until recently.
Anyone have any ideas?

I'm getting the same messages, just started two days ago after I recalibrated the battery on my Powerbook.

Any ideas?

I am having these same problems with my son's iBook, running Leopard. We finally got to the point where we couldn't get him Internet access until I simply shut off his firewall. I am not thrilled to have it off but I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

I have also found this article about resetting the KDC's certificate and key pair. NB: I haven't tried it!

So I found that NONE of the above solutions were working for me anymore (despite them working in the past).

So i reset my PMU - fixed..

I guess thats another option to try if you're stuck.

There's an easier way.....just press Command-Shift-G and type in the directory name....

nevermind, I must have did the restore wrong the first time I guess. It's no longer showing as adhoc after I restored it again. Working well now with firewall on.. hope it stays that way.

Thank you all. I had the exact same problem on my PowerBook running 10.5.8. A re-install of the 10.5.8 COMBO Update seems to have fixed it.

For those who don't have Time Machine, the only PERMANENT solution that I found was to reinstall Leopard (make sure to back up or archive your old files).

This (adding these items to the list of allowed items) doesn't always work for a lot of people. When it doesn't work, (re)installing the Combo updater usually does.
