UK - What size fuse?

I am just trying to confirm that it is a 3 amp fuse that I should be using in the plug for my Macbook charger? I'm sure it was a 3 amp that I originally replaced but I have now gone through several 3 amp fuses in the past couple of weeks. Cheers, Ray

Hi Ray,

Yes, it's definitely a 3Amp fuse.

The fact that you have gone through several fuses in the past couple of weeks could be due to a number of reasons, including but not limited to:

1. You bought a bad batch of fuses; buy some from a different retailer.
2. Or, there's something wrong with the electricity supply to the socket, in which case you'll need to get an electrician to look at it.
3. Or, it could be the actual adapter or power cable that's developed a fault. The power extension cable can easily be checked by any electrician carrying out an insulation test on it.

When the fuse blows, is it always when the adapter is plugged into a particular socket/location or has the fuse also blown when the adapter is plugged into a different wall socket/location?

Do you have access to another adapter that you can borrow for a short period of time? If the borrowed adapter does not blow the fuse then you'll need to get in touch with Apple who will send you a replacement adapter under warranty.
