How long does your iphone take to charge when at various battery levels remaining?

When your iphone is at 10% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?

When your iphone is at 20% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?

When your iphone is at 50% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?

(Assuming that you charge the phone when the phone is off using the Apple USB cable or dock through a wall power outlet)

10% about 1.5 hours
20% about 1 hour
50% about 30 minutes

No. In a good mannered way but obviously it is acquiring a more efficient charge when left on (maybe this is why it turns on by itself when docked... I think Apple did this for a reason).

I guess I'll have to test it and see what happens. I just thought keeping it off would provide a better charge because that way the phone is not connected or trying to connect to the cellular network.

Would turning it off and charging cause damage to the battery?

So leaving the phone on during charge and keeping it connected/connecting to the wireless network is not bad for the battery?

It just seems that charging the battery while the battery is being used (wireless network) is contrary to the point of charging the battery?

I ONLY recharge my iPhone at 10% battery, it takes about 3 and a half hours to recharge it to 100%

It won't "hurt" the battery, but you are correct, it will take longer if powered up. Due to the nature of batteries in general and esp. of Li-ion batteries in particular, it is preferable to keep them "topped off".

I tried a few "test" runs and too my surprise, the battery does charge much faster when in standby...about 2 hours in standby vs. 7 hours when off.

However, as for my concerns about being connected to the wireless network and draining the battery, I guess as long as the phone is in fact plugged in and charging, the charge will also stay full, regardless of the wireless network connectivity.

Last night my phone was at 15% battery- I plugged it in all night and it is still in the red. I just got my phone 2 days ago - am I doing something wrong?

Flicka, did you charge it through the dock on your computer or did you plug it into a wall outlet? If you used your computer then it wont charge while the computer sleeps. If you used a wall outlet you may not have had the cable or iphone connected properly.
