anyone tried the otterbox for iPhone

I keep a microfiber cloth and before I put the iphone in the case I wipe the case and the phone to make sure there isn't anything that will be caught between the phone and the case and so far I haven't had any scratches on the phone!

From the looks of the Otterbox case, it looks like it could survive a nuclear bomb...

I just received my Otterbox Defender case on Saturday and so far I love it. The only thing was, I think I got the first generation of this case. I called Otter today and told them the rubber silicon sleeve was kind of loose then she asked if the case was hard to remove from the holster. I told her yes and she said it shouldn't do that, what's your address? I'll ship one out to you right away. Great people to deal with. If you're looking for the best case for the money, get this case. Great overall protection.

I just posted this question in a different spot as I didnt look far enough and I just saw this thread, Iam looking to buy the otterbox defender case but is it ture that you cant use the vibrate button?

If you refer to the silent ringer switch on the side of the iphone, then the answer is true, the case doesn't give you access to the switch, therefore you can't silence the ringer when the phone is in the case. In cases where you are at meetings or don't want to be disturb you use this switch. I think is you lower the volume all the way down it may work as well as the switch, I haven't tried it yet, I think I'll try it tomorrow, most likely it will work as well.

For those that have purchased the Otterbox Defender, does the screen cover inhibit the sensitivity of the iPhone's touch screen at all? I purchased an Otterbox cover for an iPod Nano last year, and the sensitivity of the Touch Wheel was slightly reduced when I placed it in the Otterbox. I was wondering if this was the case with the iPhone Defender cover.

I can honestly say that the membrane doesn't inhibit the touch
screen capability for me.

I would tend to say no difference, but if I had a phone out of its case right next to mine there might be a very tiny, barely perceptible difference in how much I have to "push" to make things happen.

Not enough to worry about, obviously.

I feel sometimes a very minimal difference when deleting mail, sometimes it won't grasp it the first time, other than that not a really big difference that would decide not to get it, besides it's a great protection for the screen!

I think they're both similar, just one is for blackberry and one is for iphone. But both are from OtterBox.

No it doesn't inhibit the sensitivity because their membrane is like heat sensitive. So I guess as long as your hands are warm there shouldn't be any problems.
