Unable to transfer songs to jump drives

when i try to drag and drop my songs from itunes to my jump drive or a sd flash card it want transfer more than about 90 songs.these are songs off of old store bought cd,not the itunes store.i tried formating them with disk utiliy but didnt change anything. i didnt know if this was a leopard problem,itunes,or me.so what causes this.

it doesnt matter which songs i try,it gets to about 90 to 105 songs and says there isnt enough room for any more.but both the 2 gb jump drive and a cf media card ive used both still show to have about 1.3 gb of space left when you look under the info setting.the songs are downloaded at 128 kbs as mp3 so i know all the space isnt used up.

Gil, some drives have a character title limit, the file name can not be above a certain number of characters. If it is stopping at the same song each time try skipping that one see if it makes a difference.

If not, open Disk Utility and select the flashdrive (not the media card) in the left column, select Erase in the upper Tabs and be sure that Volume is not Formatted to Case-sensitive. If it is then change it.
NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE DISK, so remove any needed or original files.

If still no joy try the Extended (Journal).

FAT formatted drives have a limit to the number of items on the top level of the drive. Try copy the files to a folder, then copy the folder over.

i want to thank you for all your help.copying the songs to a desk top folder and dragging from there worked.its amazing how something so simple can fix a big problem.thanks again!
