NEW Apple AV Composite does not work with iPod classic 80G

Hi,
I recently bought an iPod classic 80G...after a few days I decided to buy a cable allowing me to watch my videos on a TV...
I decided to buy the Apple AV Composite cable (the new one, the right one, the one that says "I will work with iPod classic" on the package)...

Today I finally got it...BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!!
Every time I plug it, the iPod only tells me "TV Out enabled please connect video accessory"...

And again, this is the cable suppossed to be the right one!!!
I am really fed up...
woudl be very nice if someone could help me...

hi,
i am using no dock at all (i know that if so, i would need the new apple dock)...
it should work without using any dock, it is said that way on the apple website as well as in the instructions...

i am just plugging the cable into my tv set and into my ipod (where tv out is currently set on "ask") and all it does is play music on my tv...everytime i start a video i get that stupid message...

hi again;)
i just did the five r's...didn't fix a thing...(putting all my music back on my ipod now)
is there a possibility that there are some av composite cables that there are cables missing the authentification chip???
i am going to find a friend who has an iPod, too...and try if the cable works at that iPod...
if not i will go to a apple service partner and hope they will help me...

p.s. stupid question...i don't have to plug the power in, if i want to use the cable, do i???

p.p.s thanks for your help so far 😉

hey there again,
i found the problem!!!
it's my ipod...the connector is broken somehow...
i tried the cable on other ipods and it worked everywhere...

just came back from the local apple-dealer...they just took my ipod (without even the need to see the bill) and they are going to send it in...

so...everyone who has the same problem, check your cable on other ipods first!!!

cheers,
tim
