Keyboard - 2 letters for 1 hit ????

Keyboard numbers.
Sometimes 4 and almost always 5 give me two characters for 1 hit of the key.
It became painfully apparent entering totals for my year end taxes into Quickbooks.
Now I have to check and delete the extra number which slows the process to a snails pace.
Don't you wish it were that easy to add just 1 digit to your annual income.
Any suggestions. John

Well, I was hopeful that PMU reset or PRAM Zap would be it, but I still get two of the letter oo (yea, like that) every time I type one. I was getting two r's, so thought my repeat speed was too fast. Turned Key repeat to slowest, and Delay until Repeat to Off, then to Long. Neither has had any effect, and noow it's the o instead of the r. Could it be a faulty keyboard? Is this an impending logic board crash?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
...Tom

OK, got it. Solution: gently remove the key. There are two metal wires bent in a square shape, positioned perpendicularly that hinge on the keyboard and snap into the plastic key. Pulling up gently until one or both unsnap will release the key.
Then, remove any dirt and fibers you see. Then pull up gently on the silicone thing in the middle, and slide a very narrow (1/16 to 1/8") slip of roughish paper that is torn to a point under the silicone thing, and let that go, hold down gently, and slowly pull the paper out. Apparently, this cleans out whatever got in there. Do it again to be sure you got it, then test the key. Snapping the key back on is a trick, but you can do it.
Voila! No more double letters!
