iPhone on a motorcycle radio

I'm planning on installing a radio on my bike before the nice weather comes back around. The radio has an AUX input (3.5mm)...will I be able to hook up the iPhone with a cable through the headphone jack and listen to it on the radio? I'm sure it would work but I'm afraid of the phone somehow getting fried.
There are also controls for the iPod which allow you to control the tracks right from your handlebars, even though it doesn't say it's for an iPhone will it possibly work, or does anyone know of any products out there that are compatible with the iPhone?

bleeka,

When you go looking for a 3.5mm (1/8") mini-stereo cable look for one that doesn't have a lot of extra plastic around the plug. The Apple Store online carries one by Belkin and one by Monster that wouldn't need an adapter to fit the headphone jack on the iPhone, both are $19.95. The adapter if you cable has too much plastic around the plug is $9.95. Personally, even though it would probably cost about $5 more total, I would go for either of the cables for $19.95. That way I wouldn't have an extra connection that could be pulled loose.

Hope this helps,

Nathan C.

Thanks for the help guys, that's exactly what I needed to know! Now I'm one step closer to getting tunes on my hog.
As for the other question that I had, I was looking at the iJet wireless remote. Here is the link:

It doesn't mention anything about the iPhone, and I know people have been having problems with accesories that aren't compatible with iPhones but are compatible with iPods. What are the chances of this working on the iPhone? And putting it on airplane mode isn't a problem for me either since you can't ride and talk on the phone (not to mention can't hear a thing because of the radio and loud pipes!)
