Os 10.3 or 10.4

Hi all . I downloaded xpostfactor the other day and was using it to help activate the video driver for my Lombard . Didn't do what I wanted and was about to uninstall and I remembered many talking about putting 10.4 on a Lombard by using this program . My question is what would be the advantage to putting 10.4 on my Lombard . Would it slow it down more ? Most programs that are for OSX will work on 10.3 but I know with 10.5 out 10.3 is on it's way out just like 10.2 did .

I am running 10.4 on my Lombard, and I do not think it is any slower than 10.3 but I cannot say for sure as I have not run 10.3. I upgraded from 10.2 to 10.4 mostly to get the ability to run more software. The Lombard makes a great Internet browser but do not expect it to run things like Flash Video and such. The Video card is simply inadequate. I have no problems running Tiger, I do not even have to use Xpostfacto to change startup disks. Xpostfacto is used on the Lombard only to make Tiger think the Firewire requirement is satisfied during installation.
