I got my sms working from address book by first ensuring the bluetooth icon button was depressed. This needs enabling to ensure a communication channel is opened between phone and iMac bluetooth. It works a treat but doesn't leave a copy of the sms in the address book nor phone itself. This would be quite handy.
I can also dial a number from the address book. Incoming calls are also logged and notification dialog/prompt displayed on screen advising of the call. Again very handy.

I gave up the whole thing to... I´ve got most of my contacts over, but when I add a birthday in address book it don´t show on the phone. When I add a birthday on the phone (and at the same time add it in the calender on the phone) it don´t show on Mac.
Making a new contact and sync over works OK though..

The 8 weeks limit on Ical is a pain in the B*T and it seems to delete birthdays outside it´s 8 week window..

Did a test on my Microbill machine and everything worked without a problem, so I guess I have to maintain my address book and appointments "in the other world" 😟

The only thing I would use the Mac for is sending SMS trough BT... I was REALLY looking forward to use my Mac for admin of my PIM information, which was one of the reason why I trough the WindowsMobile away and bought something which "should" be supported directly by Isync and not through the "The missing sync"...

Now I´m just sad

I am running iSync 2.1 and still experiencing some on and off problems with Synching the K750i with my Mac Mini.

The calendar works fine BUT

The Address Book has some bugs. Some entries that are updated in Address Book completely disappear when synching with the phone via Bluetooth. They are still in the Address Book but not on the phone!!

Have you ever seen anything like this at all?

I´ve had the same thing.. Making a new contact and sync works fine. Then I updated another one and it disappear. By some magic way it ended up in my phonebook again after a reset of the sync history (I´m not sure if this was the thing that did it.. I tested all different stuff and as mentioned by some strange combination it came back)

Regarding the calender: I´ve added a bunch of birthdays on the phone and sync´ed. Checking the calender on the Mac and just a few of the entries had made it. Have you tried this and it worked ??

A reacuring birthday is also treated as a single happening in Ical on mine, not a yearly happening.

Adding a task in the 8weeks window on Ical actually work and the 8week limit is related to the sync from the machine -> Phone..
So what I did was adding all birthdays in Ical and then I just have to wait until the 8 week sync window "passes by".....

Afraid that I have not tried adding birthdays in iCal and then synching with the K750i. The rest of the iCal features such as Tasks , etc. all work just fine.

I have noticed that the procedure of Reset of Sync History has been mentioned several times in this thread. I have read the Help files, etc. and have a general idea of what is going on if I were to reset the Sync History. Is there anything that I need to be aware of (such as wiping out of any data on the Mac or on the phone) if I were to do this?

Also, I noticed when I paired the k750i with the Mac mini, the option of using iCal seemed to be grayed out as one of the features that is supported by the blue tooth profile (the others where I can check have: use phone as a modem to connect to Internet and also use phone as a remote controller).

1.) Despite the grayed out option that would not let me select using iCal as a BT support option, the thing still seems to work. Have others experienced this?

2.) Has anyone used the remote controller feature of the phone with a Mac?

If you go for a reset of the history - there is a message which tells you that no data would be lost, but you may be asked (when you start sync) if you would like to pair the information. I can´t see that I have lost information related to this operation.

Regarding you´re question 1; I have exactly the same thing.. I have NO idea what this is all about, but it seems to work, even though it´s not 100% for me..

Hello,

I have a k750i and using the hack at lindmark.net (editing the .plist file) have managed to get it syncing with isync 1.5 on 10.3.9 Panther (G4 PB). Everything seems to sync fine except that none of the physical addresses are transferred onto the phone. Nor does it seem to sync addresses from the phone onto my MAC.

Everything else seems to work perfectly - phone numbers, email addresses and appointments from iCal all sync effortlessly and I have had no problems with deleted contacts or mis-timed appointments.

I was wondering whether

(a) there is a solution to this problem with Panther, or
(b) physical addresses are synced in Apple's officially supported version of isync (2.1?) that works in Tiger.

So... where people have said above "address book syncs perfectly!", does that include physical addresses?

Thanks!

Hi, first time on this discussion thingy, found it looking to solve same phone/mac probs, just got K750i am running G4ibook on 10.3.9, cant find phone in iSync (1.5.5) at all, search devices does nothing. i am an idiot, phone appears as hrddrive icon with 'no name', it can be opened and files retrieved but thats it, do i have to upgrade to OS10.4? Is it worth the agro? I dont have Bluetooth on the iBook which is a real pain as i thought i had ordered it, apple disagreed, anyway, i have to use the usb, i can take off pics and movies from the media folder, but thats about it, i tried phone on to my pc and its worse, and after waiting so long for all the drivers to install & it still crap.
also anyone know how easy is it to install a bluetooth card?
Any advice, help, words,
Thanx
Larry

I can't think of any reason why not, though I am guessing on a potential cure to potential problems like that seen in the first reply to this post. With both my K700 and then S700, iSync would not recognise either phone if I tried to pair from (I think) the phone. I had to pair first from my PB.

I know I got the cure to this from Apple Discussions, so a search may help you more. Also, try having a look at http://206.169.164.153/salling/forums/ as there is a lot of knowledge there on these kind of issues. (By the way, I don't represent Salling in anyway, even if it IS excellent!)
