Can't Pair or Sync Sony Ericsson T616
Whenever I attempt to pair the the phone to the computer, the process seems to go fine, except that the Bluetooth setup assistant never stops saying "gathering additional information" and the progress thingie keeps spinning and spinning until I force quit; I've waited up to an hour. The phone seems to think some kind of information is being transmitted during this time, but when I force quit the setup assistant or restart the computer, the phone still thinks bluetooth is in use and I have to restart the phone as well.
After this, if I go into the system preferences and look at my paired devices, the T616 is now listed, but when I attempt to alter its settings, I get more spinning and more force quitting and never actually make it to the preferences screen.
If I go to iSync at this point and attempt to sync the devices, it says the phone is not available, even though the phone recognizes that something is happening.
At some points in this entire process, I will also get a random grey screens of death (AKA a kernel panic) and have to restart.
I have tried deleting all the associated preference files and all kinds of combinations of restarts, etc, to no avail.
I am using an AmbiCom USB bluetooth adapter, which sometimes also likes to be unplugged and replugged in for the computer to recognize that it is there.
My question is this: Am I doing something worng, or is the general consensus that iSync 2 doesn't so much support the supported phones?
I'd be happy to entertain any suggestions, fire away...
