Nokia 6630 and iSync agent, won't install

Thanks, I will see how I go. I will try anything...its so frustrating!! So close, but so far.
Someone mention before about changing trust settings under the security setting...do I need to change anything here?

I am in the exact same boat as Trent. Using the Vodaphone version of the phone in Japan and can't get the iSync agent to install. Checked the Japanese iSync discussion pages and there wasn't a simple method of making it work there either.

Could there be something different about the phones here? Looked at the security settings, but couldn't find anything helpful there either.

Leslie, glad to hear that someone else is having the same problem, I thought it was me!
I saw a previous message from a Japanese person who i can only assume is based in Japan, and was successful installing the agent.

I couldn't really understand or follow their instructions, but maybe he or she can expand on their message as to steps we need to take??

Furukawa-san posted the same message in this forum and the Japanese forum. After reading the Japanese version and looking around the net, I think I understand what needs to be done, but I forgot to bring the car adaptor home, so I coudn't try it this weekend. When I bring the card adaptor home, I will try it and let you how it went and how I did it.

Unfortunately, I have been held up by lack of a card reader or adaptor that reads the RS-MMC card that is used in the phone. I have twice bought card readers that turned out to be unusable and am hoping three times lucky sometime this week.

I am in a similar situation as you two. My problem is that I cannot install FExplore on my Nokia 6630. I get the 'Install Security Error' message. I tried it by the internet access on the phone as well as by transfer over Bluetooth.

Were you able to install FExplorer?

Unfortunately, I tried the same things as you did and couldn't install FExplore either. I am trying to get a card reader so I can put the software directly on the card, like Furukawa-san did and hopefully get it working that way.

Sorry to take so long, but my phone broke and I had a few other problems before finally getting this figured out. Here is how I did it (not so simple though).

First you need the installation file from isync which you get by control clicking on the isync icon and selecting "Show Package Contents" and follow this path.
Contents-PlugIns-ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice-Contents-Resources-Agents-and copy "AppleSyncAgent-s60v22.sis" to your desktop (or wherever you like).

Next you need to find and download "MacUnsisPy.dmg" from the Internet (you can easily google it.) Use this program to expand the AppleSyncAgent-s60v22.sis file.

Once you have this file, take your memory card from your phone and put it in your computer. The decompressed file will be divided into folders and you need to copy the content of the folders into the folder with the same name in your memory card (in the system folder). e.g. apps goes into apps, etc. There is one folder called "libs" which did not have an equivalent folder which I simply copied over into the system folder.

Next put the card back into your phone, go to your menu and scroll to the bottom and now you have a isync application. Open it and start syncing!

It worked! Thank you. I picked up a $12 (1300 yen) card reader today and it worked. Thanks a lot. I was so dissapointed when this great phone wouldn't sync with my Mac. This is wonderful. Thanks again.

I had this problem, that part is no problem.. you have to go to your settings (in your mobile- unfortunetly can't help you specifically 'cause I've run out of batery) but you have to turn off somewhere where it says that you can accept files from everyone and let other devices to control your mobile (is something like that- later on I'll try to be more specific). The thing is, after doing that, and getting rid of that stupid message, my mobile now says something like the device other device is not near or server is not doing something... I think I'm being confusing now, I'll try to help you out later on...

that is not true... I guess we must update our mobiles software in a nokia center. The security thing can be solved in the mobile's settings (not in the bluetooth part) where you say that you accept control and stuff from other devices. Search carefully and I'm sure you, as a wise guy, will figure it out (sorry but right now my mobile run out of batery, otherwise I would help you step by step... I'll try later on)

That's it Chris, and since then the message iSync send to your mobile as application message can be installed, but then another problem happens, when he says something aboutthe server, right?
What to do?
