I have exactly the same problem. contacted the nokia support earlier, because i wanted to know how to fix or deactivate that security thing. they couldn't help because "unfortunately nokia doesn't support apple sync". great...
My 6630 is from TIM (Italy) but I use it with T-Mobile in the US. It worked with this update, so in theory it can work.
This
sounds like a Nokia 6630 issue, NOT an iSync issue.
You might try disabling the security installation settings. On mine it is Tools ---> Settings ---> Security ---> Certificate Management ---> Options ---> Trust Settings
There are various trust settings, for example "Symbian installation" or "App. installation" settings may be the problem for the install. Both of those are set to "No" on my phone.
I have a suspicion that if you make those "No" it will allow the install and then you can turn them back if you wish.
Same problem here.. I have a Nokia 6630 from Vodafone (Netherlands). Tried to set all trust settings on "Yes" and even turned off/on my phone... It still does not work; when the agent tries to install itself, it keeps saying "Installation security error. Unable to install."...
6630: install FExplorer
Mac: install UnsisPy
6630: turn on Bluetooth
Mac: Config Bluetooth device
Mac: open iSync 2.1 and addition new device. Mac send AppleSyncAgent-s60v22.sis by Bluetooth.
6630: receive AppleSyncAgent-s60v22.sis, If you can not install this sis file ,you do description below
6630: look for the AppleSync Agent-s60v22.sis file by FExplorer. Maybe you can find at Mail folder. Move this file to RS-MMC card (any folder)
Mac: use card reader and mount the RS-MMC card.
Mac: sis file drag to UnsisPy application. after unsis, each folder drag to the right folder in RS-MMC.
6630: put RS-MMC card to your phone.
that all !
you can find iSync Config application at main menu.
then turn on this application. you can sync by iSync.
I am Japanese. I am very sorry about my bad English.
I think you want them set to "no" - at least the App. installation (and perhaps Symbian installation). Then you can turn them back to "yes" after you install.
Hmm... all trust settings to "no", or everything to "yes"... doesn't make a difference yet. I have even tried to set the language to English... but nothing helps so far...
Dear Marten, could you be more specific on what you mean with the iSync agent? I have done the same as you did (On your phone: Open the menu, go to Tools > Manager > Options > Settings > Software installation
Set this to "On") but my Powerbook/iSync still says that the device is not supported by iSync. Hope to hear from you.
You'll need to go in iSync and it will ask to install a program called "iSync Agent" - via Bluetooth and text message. Once that software shows up in your in folder, you will open it and it will ask to install it.
You might try deleting the pairing of your phone and the computer and re-pairing the two in order to get iSync to send the "iSync Agent".
The initial problem in this thread was not getting iSync Agent to install which is a Symbian/Nokia issue as opposed to an iSync issue.
I've the same problem, and I've found the solution:
So, you have to go in menu; outils; gestionnaire. it's telechargement of application. So you have to made OPTION; PARAMETRES. Choose INSTALLATION of LOGICIEL: select activée, NOT signé uniquement.
Thanks for the information, however even after followiing your instructions, I am still unable to install the iSync agent on the phone...I live in Japan, and Vodafone is the service provider, so I'm wondering if they have placed installation block on the phone?
The error message reads "installation security error. Unable to install"
Thanks for your help, I hope I am not the only one rowing this boat !
