Switcheasy or the Otterbox iPhone cases

Which case is an overall better case for the iPhone? The Switcheasy, http://www.switcheasy.com/iPhone.htm, looks like it keeps the iPhone's slim design but doesn't seem like it's very sturdy or protective. After reading the discussions, the Otterbox, http://www.otterbox.com/products/ipod_cases/iphone-case-defender/, is well-liked, but seems like it is bulky, and not very attractive. It's also pretty expensive.

Well in efforts to help out, if you are the clumsy type the otterbox would probably hold up better. If not, I would stick with the slim of the switcheasy, my girl has a similar product from Agent 18, and its compact and provides a decent amount of protection. I know I had the Contour hard shell, and the holster was crap so it kept releasing the iPhone, and it has dropped a few times on the ground and the streets of NYC. The case protected the phone, but each time the shell popped open.

Good morning, Tbonedaprodigy, Ok, my opinion (because I own two defender cases-the two different colors) is that OB is best. I prefer the more rugged Defender case because it protects the phone all around including the screen. It has a clear thin membrane attached to the case that protects the screen and allows full usage of the screen. In addition, the silicone jacket offers grip as well as additional protection. It's not fully waterproof, but it does protect the phone from light precipitation. No dust or dirt gets in either.

I've said it before, what good is a "prettier case" or a much thinner case if it doesn't protect the phone well? Plus the defender doesn't really add that much bulk, in my opinion. I use it regularly with the holster, but when I don't and put it in my pocket, it's not too bulky.

If you decide to order one and find you really don't like it, you can return it. OB's customer service is awesome.

Hope this helps.

I agree with IPhoNettie. They do however have a water proof case now. It's the Armor series. They're $20 more expensive than the Defender series though. Semsons & Co. Inc. has both OtterBox cases at $10 cheaper _and_ free shipping! It's a promotion they're running. Here's the blog site to get the coupon codes: http://semsons.blogspot.com (just scroll down a little). Hope this helps!
