something happened over night. I did not reinstall anything (Restore was not possible - the error was either sim card not supported or (without sim) cannot be used). This morning, when I wanted to pick up my iPhone to go to the T-Punkt dealer, it was unlocked after the sync - without opening a service call. Maybe the solution is simply to install the upgrade, wait one night and then unlock the phone. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks and best regards,
I don't know about that, but my guess is that since apple needed to do a lot of work to get databases updated after the keynote it took a while before all systems were back operational, so it had a delay with the IMEI numbers.
just out of curiosity I did a restore as well with the orange sim inserted and my belgian sim inserted, and both worked fine.
I guess this all was a glitch in the updating process of the iTunes libraries.
I can confirm:
- legally unlocked french iPhone
- before update running a helped version of 1.1.2 so I could use phone/sms
- now running 1.1.3
- finally unlocked iPhone like it should be, completely legal
my about screen with new firmware and belgian carrier proximus:
is there an austrian guy?
i bought unlocked iphone - same problems with austrian sim card (no sms, dialpad,...) - then did the thing, we are not allowed to talk about - then worked fine.
so can i now do the update?
will it work then as well?
is there the possibility that when i do the update, apple recognizes that i did the thing with my phone, i dont talk about here, and so the phone won´t work?
thx for your informations
I did that thing as well.
when you do such things you can't just update, so when you connect your iPhone and iTunes asks you to update click cancel, then go to your iPhone tab and click restore.
this wipes out the whole firmware, innculded the thing we don't talk about and leaves you with a factory default iPhone (1.1.3) which can finally do whatever we paid for!
the problems with crashing phone/sms app have been solved! thanks to apple!
I had the exact same problem. my first rstre was with original orange sim inserted and when I put in my belgian card I had no service, I thought this was an error as I was suggested that it was due to have pulled out iPhone too soon (before 1st sync) out of the dock
I restored again, this time with belgian sim card (aprox 3months old) and carrier service was detected this time! maybe you should try restoring with your swedish sim. it helped in my case.
I had the same problem as you !!!
so I try to restore with my Mauritian sim card in .... it's very long !!!
Same as this morning when I did the update !!!
note sure thats it's woks !!
I will wait for a while a deconnect it and reconnect again !!!
We will see !!!
This morning the Iphone put to sleep after a big time....
We will see
