did what u said, a full restore with swedish sim in it. Set it up as a new phone and the vodafone logo has never looked so sweet!

Sim is 5 years old. age does NOT seem to matter. Hope all others get it working to!

EDIT: haha. can't belive this. when i try to put my UK sim in again it doesnt work. Thus a restore is necessary EVERY time you want to use a different sim card. Ohh well. One step closer!

I have installed 1.1.3 on an official unlocked German iPhone using a Swedish SIM card.

No problem!! Everything works great, so you are good to go!!

No Problems here in Luxembourg with an iPhone I bought in Germany.
Update (via restore) worked like a charm.

Can someone confirm that you need to do a restore every time you change SIM card? Seems odd to me...

Updated and it works like a charm now on Croatian VIP sim card. ALL applications work flawless. Phone was bought in Germany in November and officially unlocked.

I also have a french iphone legally unlocked.
    Just want to confirm:
    - As someone posted earlier i must choose "restore" in itunes instead of "update".

It would be nice to have more confirmations of users with the french unlocked iphone.

My official simlock-free German iPhone has been locked to T-Mobile since the 1.1.3 update. Apple keeps telling me that they don't know how to fix this yet. They also keep telling me to check the iPhone support pages but there's absolutely nothing in them about the precious €999 iPhone. What gives?

Yes, i had the same issues like other people who bought a sim lock free iphone but put in a "non supported country sim" in the iPhone.

I am not sure why the first update failed, but i assume this has all to do with the special imei database.

Got to say, i am verry happy that it all works now.

My first official German unlocked iPhone broke and got replaced. I have now waited for over a week on Apple to ad the IMEI into there database.

I hope there isn't any problems with the database...

I just get "An unsupported SIM card" when I sync with iTunes....

Any more people that have problems with IMEI and unlock?

Apple Support told me the same. They don't know how to fix it. I kept trying and trying over the last days. This is what happened:

    1) T-Mobile SIM in iPhone - restore -> iTunes says "unlocked". Works with original T-Mobile Sim + Vodafone Sim
    2) BASE (E-Plus) SIM in iphone -> restore -> iTunes says "unlocked". Works with NO sim card anymore

I have no idea what iTunes programs into the Phone but definetly only some values are missing. We just will have to wait I guess. I suppose (hope) that Apple is working hard on the Problem.

Definetly I will call the support daily now. The guys there are quite helpless unfortunately, but this way I hope that something will be done.

Unfortunately and very nasty it is the same to me in South Germany. Legally bought IPhone is not working any more for over 6 days since updating to 1.13 !! :-C :-C

Carrier is Simyo (Eplus). After restoring to Factory Settings it also does not work with a T Mobile Prepaid SIM any more !!!

It is unbelievable... with other words: it s**ks ! :-C

    Regards, Peter

try a restore to factory defaults with the sim you want to use in your iPhone.
should work. it did for me.

No. Done it several times. Does not work. Are you restoring with Itunes or is there another way I do not know yet ?!?
