My speakers exploded??

Ok this is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me in 10 years of using macs. I was taking a screenshot with SnapNDrag and just when I released the button the loudest sound came from my speakers. It scared the crap out of me! It sounded like those compressed air cans with the button at the top that people use at sports events. And it was crazy loud! It lasted like 1.5 seconds. Now my speakers sound lower than before (unfortunately theres no way for me to compare this now so Im only judging from memory)...

anyone have any idea what happened?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Well, last night I was listening to music when my left speaker made a noise like popping a chewing gum bubble and was almost dead afterwards. Neither the sound nor the music were particularly loud. The only sound that comes from my left speaker now are some high frequency squeaks...

I'm going to take it to my dealer. I just bought my MBP two weeks ago after my PB died...
