Problems upgrade iTunes 7.5 to 7.6

Hi,

I have made the upgrade for iTunes from 7.5 to 7.6 for Mac. Even if the upgrade utility said I have the last version of iTunes, the information about the program shows I have the 7.5 version. For that reason, I don't have access to the new services. When I try to use it, the program said that I need to upgrade to version 7.6

Any idea how to solve the problem?

Thanks

AJ

Thanks JTolbert - this put me on the right track to solving the problem.

I had the same issue: upgraded through System Update (once), but iTunes told me it was still 7.5. Downloaded the installer manually, and although the install didn't give any problems, iTunes was still 7.5!

It turns out I had moved the iTunes application into a subfolder in Applications. The new iTunes 7.6 DID install correctly - but to the default location directly in Applications. Since my dock icon was pointed to the other location, it kept launching the old version.

After cleaning up the old copy and resetting the dock icon to the current version, everything works now as expected.

I'm seeing the same issue...open iTunes and get the pop-up message that new version (7.6) is available, do you want to download...click "yes" and the software updater opens and runs...returns with the message that all software is up to date. iTunes is still version 7.5 (19).

Then try >iTunes>Check for Updates and get the same result.

I see other posts about being 7.6 buggy and 7.6 slow, etc. My guess is that 7.6 was released with bugs and they have now pulled it from the downloads, which is why I'm not getting a download.
