i tried everything i could think of i sucked on the headphone jack look to see for debris or anything suck and nothing i turned it on and off several times and still nothing so i was desperate i grabbed my blow dryer i set it on high and bam it worked i could hear everything hope this helps you an saves you money
IT does work! But I used a Hoover instead
CCan you explain step by step how you fixed the problem, because I mstuck and nothing is working
2016 and this fix still works. Thanks!
I cannot believe I had this issue today - literally 4 days before I get the iPhone7. I went into panic mode and spoke to Apple Support chat online - we spent almost an hour testing voice memos, restoring my phone from backup and as new - no luck. Then we got cut off 😕
But then someone else took over and 'kindly' warned me that I was out of warranty so I would be liable for any hardware costs. YAY! However they told me of the simple trick of getting a cotton bud and gently inserting it into the jack to clear it out. I had no cotton buds so I delicately used a cocktail stick. Five mins later of tiny bits of lint coming out, hey presto! A bigger ball comes out and my phone went back into ringer mode! I could have cried. Literally.
Amaizing! I tried everithing and this is the only way that fixed my iPhone.
Thank you so much.
Holy c**p. It worked. Iphone 6s, i'm amazed! thanks!!! <3
I also used compressed air into the headphones input and it worked !
Of everything I read and tried, your suggestion worked. I put my mouth over the headphone jack and sucked as hard as possible and on the third try I heard like a whistle sound and my sound worked. Even though it still says headphones instead of ringer, my sound works. Thank you
If its water damage turn it off then put it in rice, check it in a hour or so. if that doesn't work put it in rice overnight.
very very helpful i did the same as you said and it worked thank you, i was thinking of a new phone.
Worked for me too! the compressed air worked i guess.
Omg this actually worked!
Thank you so much !!!
Sucking threw the jack worked for me too! I was having this same issue and it worked!!!
I'm going to share with you guys what literally just worked for me. After trying resetting, plug and unplug trial, Bluetooth tricks, nothing worked. I realized that the hole was clogged with dust. I tried using a q-tip but that didn't completely work either. Dust can be stubborn! I couldn't find any toothpicks to mate with the cotton tip so I used a skinny paintbrush and wiggled it around in the hole several times and watched how the dust broke up and came out on the end of the brush. Problem solved!
Further to this I think I have found the perfect 'tool' for cleaning out the headphone jack socket.
my son's ip6 was stuck in h/phone mode and all previous attempts (resets,q tips, blowing, sucking, etc.) failed and I suspected debris within the socket.
The answer folks..........a Tepe interdental brush. Look it up!
I happened to have an orange one to hand (other colours may work ~ colour denotes thickness of brush)
The length is perfect for the socket.
Insert twist and withdraw.
A large glob of black gunge came out, on the first go, keep going until clean.
Due to the design of the brush it is able to pick up and collect debris at the very end of the socket.
Solved the problem.
Hope it helps someone.
