I just installed new Itunes 7.6 and now my audio from the TV shows and Movies does not work on Itunes (computer only). I did re-install the quick time only again .still does not work ..
when I use it in the IPOD it works...
Apple, PLEASE fix this problem. I'm really starting to get annoyed with this whole situation since, for the last 2 days, I've tried to watch my shows and cannot.
Looking at this and the other thread, it appears that Apple is perfectly aware there is a problem with XP and iTunes 7.6, but is choosing to pretend not to know or care until a fix is devised. Gee, that's not obnoxious or anything. Is it just my computer or is iTunes 7.6 also quite a bit choppier than 7.5 when running video?
Audio didn't work with my movies either. I restored my system point, uninstalled Itunes (but forgot to uninstall quick time), reinstalled the 7.5 version of itunes and then downloaded the newest version of quicktime and installed. Still no audio in videos. I then uninstalled everything Apple on my system and reinstalled 7.5 clean install and everything works now. It seems like it is something with the new quicktime but who knows. Apple is keeping quiet unfortunately. I hope that they rectify the situation soon.
I also reinstalled Quicktime No Luck . Apple Tech no use. It seems music videos that are not 256kps will play without sound. The standalone Quicktime plays all fine.
Hmm... I just checked again and my Vista machine now plays protected mpeg-4. Must have required a few reboots, or maybe something else I did fixed it up -
shrug
However, my Windows XP iTunes 7.6 exhibits the no audio on protected mpeg 4 problem.
I had the same problem. I restored my system to the day before I installed 7.6. I made sure I exported my library as an XML file to my desktop just in case. Audio works fine now. You can also uninstall iTunes and QuickTime and then install version 7.5. Again, make sure your library and playlists are backed up. Visit http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313 for info on how to do that.
Another "me too" post. It has been three days since this happened and I don't see an answer to this problem. I couldn't find a support email. Does anybody know if at least they're working on this?
check out the very first post on page one. posted by ifan369.
Uninstall quicktime 7.4 and reinstall 7.3 to get the sound back on your TV shows. Hope everyone gets their itunes fixed.
In an attempt to get us to buy Macs, Apple has removed sound from purchased or rented movies, shows or videos. They may have turned people the other way. I'll check out the Zune tomorrow!
Are you having problem with playback with both Digital Output and Analog Outputs? My machine where I am using analog out is working fine. My machine wil digital out is not working.
After installing the latest version 7.6 this happened to me. Uninstall Quicktime from your computer. And then install Quicktime 7.3
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime731forwindows.html This solved it for me. No need to uninstall itunes just Quicktime.
