I just installed new Itunes 7.6 and now my audio from the TV shows and Movies does not work on Itunes (computer only). I did re-install the quick time only again .still does not work ..
when I use it in the IPOD it works...
Apple support ( after a 45 minute wait ) says this is the first she has heard of it and she cannot help. Said I should go to itunes support and send THEM an e-mail. After 20 minutes of navigating per her instructions gave up in disgust! If this is what apple calls support they better get a new dictionary. Why do they only offer updates involving newer ways of getting more money and not offer reliable or improvement updates for their existing customers and products for a change.
Restart did not work for me. I also re-installed iTunes and followed other hints from Apple support regarding issue with video playback. Nothing worked so far.
i updated to iTunes 7.6.0.29 today and now the sound doesnt work in tv shows , but it does for music, audiobooks & movies. i tried reinstalling it and restarting but it still didnt work. they need to fix this. anyone have any ideas
More information on the exact problem, should Apple or anyone else be looking for data points:
Protected mpeg-4s are the ones that don't play. Basically, most Movies and TV Shows purchased from iTunes Music Store.
Unprotected mpeg-4s do play. That's items like the White Stripes' "Blue Orchid" video purchased as an album bundle from ITMS. It will play audio in iTunes because it's an unprotected mpeg-4. However Madonna's "Hung Up" video, also purchased from the ITMS is a protected mpeg-4 and will not play audio.
